No opponent has beaten a top-ranked UConn women's basketball team more than Notre Dame.

With the results of the latest Associated Press poll Monday, the Irish will get the opportunity to add to their total.

The unbeaten Huskies continued their season-long run at No. 1 in the poll and were the unanimous pick for the second consecutive week. Thirty media members voted.

UConn (18-0) entertains Notre Dame (12-5) at Gampel Pavilion Monday with tip-off scheduled for 5 p.m.

The Huskies are 501-20 as the top-ranked team since earning the spot for the first time on Jan. 17, 1995. Five of those losses are to the Irish. The first two came in 2001 on Martin Luther King Jr. Day in South Bend and in the NCAA Final Four semifinals in St. Louis. The others were in the 2011 Final Four semifinals in Indianapolis, a 2013 regular-season game in Storrs and the 2018 Final Four semifinals in Columbus, Ohio.

Tennessee and Stanford have beaten No. 1 UConn teams three times each while Villanova and Baylor have done it twice apiece. Louisiana Tech, Duke, Rutgers, Mississippi State and Arizona have done it once each.

If the Huskies can beat Notre Dame Monday, Georgetown Thursday, and Seton Hall Sunday, it's likely the Lady Vols will get a shot at a top-ranked Huskies' club on Feb. 1 when they are scheduled to meet at PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford.

Fairfield (14-3) received two points. The Stags have won 10 games in a row.

South Carolina (19-1) checked in at No. 2 behind UConn for the second straight week Monday with 715 points with UCLA (17-1) remaining third with 692 points.

Texas (19-2) stayed at No. 4 following a loss to the Gamecocks while Vanderbilt (18-0) remained No. 5. UConn and coach Shea Ralph's Commodores are the only unbeatens left. Vanderbilt takes on Michigan Monday in the Coretta Scott King Classic in Newark, N.J.

LSU (17-2) stayed at No. 6 with Michigan (15-2), Louisville (18-3), TCU (18-1) and Iowa (16-2) each moving up one spot to round out the Top 10.

Coach Carla Berube's Princeton club (15-1) jumped two spots to No. 20. Duke (21), West Virginia (22) and Washington (25) re-entered while Iowa State, Notre Dame and Illinois dropped out.
